REDNBLUEFANS

Well....this is my unbiased (wink wink) opinion on the game.
UK has a decent defense, good but not great. U of L and Hunter Cantwell should be able to move the ball with a balanced attack. Uof L has 3 decent running backs and should keep them fresh. The offensive line returns 3 starters from last year (Wood, Bussey & Wetterer) Wetterer was injured in the 2nd game and was out for the year but a starter never the less. U of L's receivers are going to surprise some people with Long, Beaumont, Vaughn and Chichester.Long is prolly the best right now of these while Beaumont is very ellusive in the Harry Douglas kind of mold.
Chris Vaughn will stretch the field and if they are inside the 20 and Chichester is matched up with a 6'1 defender and he is 6'8, well it's no match. As for UK's offense, they have most of their line returning and 3 running backs also.
The problem with UK as is clear to most people is at the QB spot. Hartline may develop into a good QB later on but I believe this first game will be more than he can overcome at this point. UK may have the line returning but if U of L simply puts 7 or 8 in the box and forces Hartline to throw
it's going to give U of L an addvantage. U of L's db's are much improved with Patrick and Turrenne at the corners and Thomas back from injury at safety. Although it's true UK ran for 187 yards last year against U of L, they also had over 350 yards passing. It was more balanced. I just believe it will be to much for a young QB, starting for the first time to handle. I predict 28-17 U of L. Those are my thoughts, awaiting anxiously for everyone else's.

UK returns their d-line and only lost 1 linebacker, although he was a VERY good one. Their secondary also returns. ul is very inexperienced on the o-line. Backs are mostly untested. Receivers are all replacements. Cantwell has been good when called upon. I firmly believe that UK's D will shut down ul's offense. On the other side of the ball, as you say, UK's o-line returns in tact, plus they're 2 deep at each line position. Receivers are mostly new, with the exception of Dickey Jr. At running back, they are WAY deep with (2) 4.2/40 guys, (Smith & Locke), Tony Dixon returns, and Moncell Allen reminds many of Mark Higgs, STRONG and FAST. QB is talented but young and inexperienced. I see them running thru the large holes created by UK's o-line blowing through ul's d-line. ul's linebackers are very suspect and their secondary is questionable as well. ul may have a slight edge with a small "home field" advantage, but there will be MANY UK fans there as well. I truly don't understand why Vegas has ul favored, but I do know that they aren't wrong often. On paper, I really believe that UK is much more talented and much deeper. Let the game begin! Good luck cards. GO CATS!!!

You can always be 4 or 5 deep...but only one plays at a time. QB is talented?...How do you know?

The same way that I know ul's backups are talented... IF they weren't, they wouldn't be in a Division 1 program. Plus I am connected to the coaching staff, and they are pleased with his progress. We'll all know, one way or the other, very soon. Gd luck cards. GO CATS!!!

Well....although I respect your insight Cats...there are many Div. I QB's that are not talented...I also see where UK's D is dominating the O in scrimmage. That is either one of two things...UK's D is very good or the O isn't....Prolly a combination of the two...what do you think?

So does that mean that UK is ready for the SEC this year as well, Catsman? You have alot of good points. After a few games under Hartline and the other newbies, they could (IMO) make a decent run, at average SEC teams, whats your thoughts?

I also believe UofL will win by a slight margin, (maybe) home field will help. 24-21, (keeping it safe lol)
But like Chuck is saying, Hartline is not tested at all, to where Cantwell has been in huge games, he knows what to expect.

I believe U of L will win as well, around 38-27. I don't believe UK has the offense.

As previuosly stated, I just don't see ul winning. What am I misssing? I don't see UK beating Florida, Georgia, and maybe Alabama and TN. With a couple of exceptions, a very tough schedule. I am planning on going to EVERY home AND away game. I can't wait for the season to start! Good luck cards. GO CATS!!!

Yeah, a high powered lawyer wants off a winning case, (as you see it)..Sounds to me like he figured out K.S. is full of bull and he knows she cannot win. What do you say to that idea? Never mind, who cares what you got to say..
