REDNBLUEFANS

This was one of the best games ever!
I was excited when Sosa hit the shot so I really didnt pay much attention to it at the time. After I played it back, the entire team and most of Freedom Hall jumped out of their seats after shot, everyone except Earl Clark! He was still whining on the bench with that cry baby look on his face. I know the he's got talent and he's gonna make a lot of money some day, but where is the passion and desire for the team. Everytime I watch him play I like him less and less. Basketball is a team game and he is not a team player. If I was Pitino I would bench is A** for good or get him off the team. There are some good freshman there that could be role players at the forward position and get some experience. E5 really let me down today as a fan.

I hope the cards can carry some of the momentum into the Big East now. I think Sosa needed that, his game will get better now.

Bench him and get him off the team... Are you serious?! C'mon bro I agree he needs to be a team player and all and show some passion and support for his teammates but kick him off the team... more times than not a player like Clark is going to win you games and not lose them for you... He's one of the best talents UL has... I don't know if you noticed this either but after that turnover on his in bounds play at the end when he almost single handedly cost UL the game, Pitino put him on the bench and came over and said something to him that I'm sure was far different than "hey lets try and not turn the ball over there next time ok?" I'd venture to say anyone within 10 rows of the UL bench heard every version of the F-word possible and probably learned a new curse word or three. I'd also be willing to bet he made Clark want to crawl under the bench and die... Just my opinion but in no way do I think Clark needs to go anywhere...

Kicked off the team, benched are you serious??? Clark is very talented and at times can be more emotional than Sosa in his freshman year. I would think that he wanted to crawl up and die because he knows it would have been on his shoulders and that, this game would be the last UK rivalry game he would ever be in, and im sure he would not have wanted it to go down as a loss. As for his emotion keep looking at you tape, it took him about 7-10 seconds of whining sulking before he joined the celebration. Im sure he would have much rather have been in the game bu at the end of the day he realizes that he had a bad game but they barely overcame it and got the W.
As for what Rick said to him, who knows but i hope that he told him 'we have 2 timeout left, you should have use em'

I don't know why you think E-5 should be kicked off the team, and the benching part, why? The man made a mistake, happens in every game, someone always makes a mistake, look at Chris Webber.
With that being said, i know how he feels, i have played alot of basketball in my time, made mistakes, and i was down about my game to, a few times. Missed a big shot where we lost to a big rival. But i came back the next game and played my game, so will E-5. One bad game, doesn't mean you should bench him or for God sakes, kick him off the team!! You either ain't a UofL fan, or you don't like him.

And CATSMAN, why the negative stuff? Your getting about as bad as all them UofL fans you hate so much. And why do you call him a head case? For someone who has season tickets to everything in Ky, you sure do have alot of hate in your sporting heart for anything, UofL. Gezzz get over your UK cold heart. Lil' Rickie (as you call him) is gone from UK, let it go, dude!! You shouldn't worry about him getting anyone to the next level.

Believe he was thanking the good lord that he hit the shot and saved him from the embarrassment of throwing that pass away. Passion? If he didn't have passion for this team he would have went on last year.........what a buzz kill dude

Do me a huge favor CATSMAN, watch this video, stop it at the 28/29 second mark, the player standing up in the back was E.Clark, the 39 second mark, E.Clark was in the middle of the court with the other players, 49 second he was stuck behind the camera man, but got close to them as they moved around and at the 1:19 mark, you will see why he didn't get up fast enough, Jerry Smith, and a coach jumped right in front of him. So again, why is he a head case?
So in a video that is the last 1:32, you see E.Clark as much as the rest of them.
And at the 1:04 mark even the T.V. guy is saying he knew he was going to shoot it, looked like a normal jumper to me.
And in my opinion, if you just threw the ball away, and it was a made basket, and then fouled the guy who tied the ball game, and you fouled out with said foul, you telling me you wouldn't be down about it? He is human, in his mind i am sure he was saying, WTH was i thinking out there?

Chris, leave it up to CATSMAN to try and belittle the cards, as i said before CATSMAN, why are you a season ticket holder if you don't like Lil' Rickie, E.5. or T-Will. with their ghetto nicknames?

I don't HATE anybody... there are many, from BOTH sides, that make stupid comments that I don't like! There are MANY ul fans that are sick of Lil Rickie's constant self agrandizement and huge ego... I am NOT alone in my sentiment. I call them as I see them, and I see Clark as a head case. Sits on the bench pouting as the rest of the team celebrates. What do you call that??? Good luck cards. GO CATS!!!

Thanks for all the different perspectives. I know he got yelled at and chewed out but he really didnt seem to care that they had won. I'm just a fan, I've watched thousands of games and you can see when someone doesnt play like a team player. You all pointed out he has talent....I agree....but talent and desire are something totally different.

I dont doubt he has talent but something has to change with his attitude! Wasnt his room mate DC? Another kid with the same problem.

Another thought for everyone to think on. He plays well around the rim and can rebound, why not try him out at center some of the time when Samuels is in foul trouble. Split time with him and Samuels? This would allow another spot up shooter to enter the game. How about this line up?

C- Earl Clark/Samuels
F- TWill (would be an awesome pass/slasher in the high post)
G- Smith
G- Sosa
G- Kurik GF Swopshire

I think it could work! Thoughts?

I am in some agreement with these thoughts of yours, but as i said before, "if you just threw the ball away, and it was a made basket, and then fouled the guy who tied the ball game, and you fouled out with said foul, you telling me you wouldn't be down about it?" He really gave this game away, if it hadn't been for the 3, it would be O.T. and then, who really knows who would have won. And it wouldn't be up to him to make up for it, because he fouled out.

I'm not saying he didn't hold his head down, even after the shot was made, but he was out on the floor right after the game with his teammates.
I do like your idea about moving him closer to the basket, right now he does have a better feel for rebounding than S.S.

CATSMAN, did you watch the video?

Did you happen to see E-5, was he on his feet moments after the shot? Wasn't he out on the floor when the horn sounded? I guess your finding it hard to reply to, when its on a video. Again, there is a FACT, E-5 was out there!!
As i have said before, you seem to have hate/or dislike for the UofL players and Lil' Rickie (as you like to call him). Its guys like you who go to a UofL game and sit there like a bump on a log. Cheer for them CATSMAN, thats why you buy tickets, or do you go for the beer, and visit with all the big wigs you know?

Dude get off the weed. Sunday showed you why he can't play inside. Not enough bulk to get it done. He is a strong forward and always will be.

Sosa hitting that three is fool's gold for the UL team. Pitino knows this also. His problem to this point has been forgetting to run the play when it is called from the bench. No one knows where he is going when he goes one on one. For the rest of the season he will want to be the
hero in every game.

The real problem is the kid doesn't have the game to be the hero. That is why he hasn't done that well this season. He wants to be the man, but his game isn't the level of being the man. This has been his struggle since he has been at UL. (see TA&M game) Pitino had a long meeting with him after that game pronto. He stated at the time that Edgar would learn from this and be a better player, he isn't. He blew the play off on Sunday. Yes, he hit the shot and it was a great winning shot.
The problem is he blew the play off, once again! Good luck the rest of the season UL fans. This one game winner is going to haunt your team the rest of the season.
