Last year Sosa shot 39% from the field, worst shooter i have ever seen play at UL. He shot 37% from 3, 65% from the free throw line, had 54 turnovers to only 66 assist, and averaged only 7.6 pts a game. The stats dont lie my friends, and i myself felt like he shot 25% watching him. The point is he must improve by leaps and bounds to be an effective starter. He may end up on the pine!

wow winningham I don't think you fellow cardinal fans would be happy with your assessment, but that is a very good point of view on him, yhat was always my problem with Meeks and porter last year even though meeks was deadly from the freethrow line he comitted way too many turn overs for me, it is hard to win if you can't hold on to the ball

I think Siva will move Sosa to the bench very quickly, because Siva is a true point guard. Sosa might be better suited at the 2, but I don't see him playing over Smith or Knowles.

Hey go on and doubt Sosa's ability to shoot, but remember SOSA for three. That was a dagger in the little blue nation's hearts. Call it lucky if u like but it takes skill to shoot a shot like that.

My grandma could throw up 25 footers until one of them finally goes in, Jason. Is she skilled? Do you ever post anything that carries any merit? I hope everyone sees that this post was started by a UofL fan, and was responded to by two cat fans and one cardinal fan in a very classy, intelligent way, and then this clown had to come in and start the trash talk. I wish we could get through one thread without people like Jason Miller ruining them.

Shawn, not being boastful, but Sosa made that shot twice that night, so it was not a lucky shot. type in sosa other lucky shot. care to explain uk fans?(on youtube) That is the actual title. The shot is identical. I will admit Sosa has had some times were he has been clumsy withthe ball; but I am not going to go so far as to say he will be sitting on the bench. However, I am not expecting Sosa to be the all around player of the team, either.

To me, it seems like Sosa is always trying to prove something. Then, if he manages to make a play that's even the slightest bit postive, Edgar hoops and hollers as if having just won the National Championship. Sometimes, for a game or two after that, he plays timid or practically disappears. Trying to maintain a more low-key Pete Sampras-type persona would benefit the kid. It also doesn't help that Pitino picks on "Little Eddie" a lot when speaking to the media. While I realize that this is a motivational tactic, some players don't have a tough enough exterior to handle even minimal public verbal abuse from their coach.

Although the shot that ended the UL/UK basketball contest last season was dramatic, it didn't garner the "this is our house" standing on tables, jersey-logo lifting celebration(primarily from Sosa)that followed. He could have just smiled, pumped his fist, hugged a teammate, and proceeded to have a congenial conversation with the assembled floor reporters, before leaving the court to celebrate privately in the locker room with fellow players. The best act like they've been there before, go through the motions with stellar prowess, and maybe lose composure after clinching a championship. Little Eddie seems much too easily aroused by hints of success, and should make an attempt to quiet down while allowing his game to do the hollering.

Hey shawn news flash u can say what u want about UL nothing will change the scoreboard from jan 4th. Sosa hit the shot that's facts for ya. I didn't start trash talking u did by " siva will move Sosa to the bench quickly." so check ur posts before u say I started the trash talk. Sosa is a senior and captain why in the world would he be riding the bench?

So now we are telling players how to react to their win on the basketball court? You have got to be kidding me. He needs to maintain a low-profile, when did you become his publicist or his judge and jury? I wouldnt care if he sd "this is our house" at every home game, as long as he wasn't out of line; wouldnt care if he had it put on a t-shirt(lol). U act as if he took a Uk Jersey, and stomped on it, and then looked at the camera and said "this is our house, get them out of here! " >Mr_Skandl said:

I'll reiterate the point to which I was eluding. HE SHOULD ACT LIKE HE'S BEEN THERE BEFORE, and good things will follow. Other than one exciting, but meaningless shot, what has he REALLY done for you? Did he beat A&M on a last second three in the sweet 16? NO. Did he lead Louisville past Michigan State to the final four last year? NO. He celebrated like a circus clown in the victory over Arizona, and that got him what... bounced the next round?

Are you his publicist, Letheica? Did I offend your client? He's not my player, so really I don't care how Little Eddie continues to conduct his business. Your the fan who has an underachieving headcase for a point guard. So, let him continue to bounce off the arena walls every once in a while after making a momentarily crucial play. Sosa can dance across the floor like a Kangaroo, pausing only to model for cameras, and Louisville can continue to drift further away from having any connection with 1986.

I never said I was his publicist, I just asked if you were. But I shouldve asked if you were his doctor, since you are writing the prescription for success. You proved my point. Thanks. You are suggesting how he should conduct himself on the court. As for the shot he made being meaningless, the look on Billy G's face, as well as the coaching staff, was priceless! And let's not forget the Uk players. So for it to be meaningless, they shouldn't have batted an eyelash. (sure didnt look unfazed to me) I have said previously that he has work to do in certain areas, such as getting a handle on the ball, but I can almost always count onthat three and it's good! I do think that Smith will keep Sosa grounded especailly since they are co-captains of the team now. However, if Knowles were in his senior year, I couldnt say that Coach P would've picked Sosa for co -captain, because he loves Knowles hard work. BUT LET ME ASK YOU THIS: where all your insults really neccesary? Now we have a headcase and an underachiever all in one? And I guess you have the exclusive on us drifting further away from a championship? Funny how we haven't stepped on the court yet and you 're already making these kind of predictions. I hope that all those recruits you have stock in, can live up to the hype. Wow. I can't wait til basketball season starts, good luck cats, GO CARDS!!!

Didn't advance you in a tournament game, didn't break or tie a record, and didn't set a series precedent. VIRTUALLY MEANINGLESS. Plus, it was against Michael Porter, so you lose like ten difficulty points for that alone. LOL! Kentucky was lucky to rally back from seven in the final minute, and most likely would have lost in OT. The shot was about as memorable as the one heaved up by Patrick Sparks against the Cards several years ago. It was great for the moment, and fun to talk about months after the fact... but down the road, will have little if any impact on the grand scheme of things.

Winningham, a UofL fan, already highlighted Sosa's performance faults, and I'm simply suggesting that a change in attitude(adoption of humility) might mend a few of the gaps. Take a poll. Many Card fans are sure to agree. You probably won't remember this, but similar behavior from former Wildcat standout Rod Rhodes, lead Pitino to suggest that the player might be more comfortable at USC. That transition set the stage for an eventual Wildcat championship.

As far as insults go, I didn't make jest about anything concerning Sosa's name, appearance, race, voice, or nationality. I stated what was obvious. The kid received a lot of hype coming into college. He's yet to live up to all of the hype. This would make Sosa an underachiever. At times he seems scared, confused, unconfident, and frustrated on the court. Those are qualities of a headcase. I'll even tack inconsistent onto my diabolical list of slanderous insults.

BTW, if I owned the socalled "exclusive rights of UL drifting farther away from a championship"... I'd be on Fortune's five-hundred list. He's not necessarily a cancer to the team, but, an increase in pine-time for Little Eddie, would benefit all involved.

First...The session games that UK plays in are almost sold out. Seems like Wake and Texas need to do a better job of getting their fans to the game. Most UK fans have a responsibility to their employer and family. The first round game is always a g…

Gotta admit...that was funny. But it sounds like you speak from experience. I would imagine those Ayottes double as nose pickers. The funniest pic I have seen was Paul drinking his tea. He sent me the vid. http://teabagyourmates.com/

I had the Cheatnals winning this one. But now that Cal has suspended Amoke, their bench just got a little thinner. Cheatnals against Puke...Where is a good F-5 wen you need it.
