WCS......you know what's funny about Forde is that while he was the UL sports writer for the Courier Journal in Louisville we hated him. He was a Denny Crum hater (before Denny even started his backsliding) and he was as inflammatory a writer to UL football (granted alot of it was self-induced) as we have ever had. I recall an instance several years ago when he wrote one of the most disparaging articles on UL (which was pro-UK) I've ever read; which prompted me to actually call the guy. I pretty much dressed him down for the article and told him if he really felt that way maybe he should try his reporting out in Lexington. He responded by saying he was there to report objectively and called them like he saw them.

I'm not sure when or why he has supposedly changed his allegiance over to UL; but he never favored UL when he reported here.

I hope you know John Wall took his official visit to Kentucky under Billy Gillispie. So if you're trying to say this is the "tip of the iceberg" for some kind of problem with Coach Calipari, you are clearly misunderstanding the whole situation.

Brad Canaday said:
Tip of the Iceberg...The NCAA is on Calipari like Tarkanian 20 years ago.

Shawn Duncan said:
I read that the worst case scenario would be Wall missing 10% of our regular season games. That means he MIGHT miss the first three games of the season. Like you said Shamrock, no big deal.

WildcatShamrock said:
Did you see who brought this "story" to the surface? ... Pat Forde. HA! That should say it all... In case you haven't realized this yet, Pat Forde is THE BIGGEST UL toolbag in the world. He will go to any length to put down UK, and this recent "story" is no exception. It's pretty pathetic, really:

The issue of Wall's eligibility has been one that UK has known about for some time and is not anything new. UK is confident that the matter will be taken care of soon. This will either be a matter of either (a) no problem or (b) the payment back of some money used to front expenses for college visits by an AAU coach that was also registered as an agent during an official visit. That's it. He won't miss practice time, and he won't miss game time. It's not ANY type of NCAA infraction (and we can all tell you're trying your hardest to make it come across that way). It's practically nothing. Worst case scenario: John Wall must repay money. Done deal.

So, sorry to burst your bubble Keith, this is a non-issue; just a pathetic little attempt from a wannabe sports reporter and UL's biggest fan, Pat Forde. Maybe you (and Pat) should do a little research before making a big stink about nothing.

I can see Pat, but you Keith? You're smarter than that.

Oh Coach G recruited John Wall? Then we are off the hook then.

This so-called "infraction" happened on Billy G's watch, NOT Cal's. Get it! That is a FACT! Good luck cards. GO CATS!!!

I don't think Forde likes anyone. He has devoted the last half of his career to being the "controversy guy". If you'll remember, in his younger years with the Courier he was timid and even-handed(boring) toward both programs, until one day in the mid-90's when he snapped. I think a lot of that came from trying to show shrewd objectivity in an attempt to get the attention of ESPN. As you can see... it worked. That's why I rarely acknowledge Pat's antics. Kind of like Howard Stern, he just says and writes things to get attention.

And the perceived Pitino obsession stems from the fact that if you don't kiss up to Rick constistently, he shuts you out of the local media loop.
