larrywb59 said:here is a link for you look at every year since the director's cup started and you will see the average ranking is UK 40.5, UL average ranking is 100.5

. I mean if you want to say 3 time out of the last 10 years is UL being ranked the majority of the time, there is something wrong with your math skills lol

Check that out sparky that's last years rankings for all college teams in all sports. The reason Louisville never acknowledges your type is because the University of Louisville is currently, and for the last 10 years, better. I'm not certain the weights that the NCAA puts on sports is correct or not but according to the last 10 years the NCAA even says UL is a better Athletic Program.
Actually we're just ignoring the mindless, stereotypical idiot that is asking these questions. Try to improve your education and status in life first before running with the successful adults...
...and getting your GED doesn't qualify.
I don't blame you for ignoring him, Scabbie. If you actually tried to address his questions about your pathetic program, you'd have to admit he's right. No championships in almost a quarter century, one final four in that same time span, and only one conference title in thirteen years. So sad.....

OK. I will go ahead and speak on this even though its an absolute waste of time. Louisville Basketball has been a major basketball program since the moment Denny Crum took them over. Have they had the success of UCLA, UNC, and UK; few have. They ruled the 80s, they stunk in the 90s and over the last several years they have made huge steps to becoming a major player again. Under Pitino they have been to two elite eights and a final four.
Yes Kentucky has seven titles (four of them before the 60s) verses two for U of L, but U of L was a mid-major program until the 80s. UK has been a major player (and a major cheater) for the majority of it's history. They have 11 final fours (six coming before the 70s) to U of L's 8 (all but one during or after the 70s.) Louisville has two elite eights and one final four in the last five seasons (yes there was an NIT in that span, but UK has one as well.)
UK does have one more post 60s title than Louisville, however they have been largely irrelevant in the basketball world for the last several years, not having been to the final four in 11 years. Yes they are headed back up under Calipari, but U of L has been up barring one season for the last 5 years.
I look forward to the rivalry of upcoming years. But to call Lousville a mid-major program when they have nearly matched Kentucky over the last 40 years is just stupid. Let the numbers speak.
Titles since 1970 - U of L (2) UK (3) (also UK deserves credit for 2 title game losses)
Final Fours since 1970 - U of L (7) UK (7)
Elite Eights since 1970 - U of L (10) UK (18)
Sweet 16s since 1970 - U of L (19) UK (23)
While UK has the edge in almost every category, I do not think that they have proven to be lightyears ahead over the last 40 years. Anyone that wants to argue before 1970, most of you weren't even born yet, and we know Rupp was a cheater, plus basketball was less relevant, so shut up!
