Kentucky has owned Louisville over the years. There is no arguing that, all you have to do is look at the record. Murray St just blew WKU away a few days ago. WKU just beat Louisville by double digits on a neutral court. Wow!, talk about an all time low! #1Ky, #2Murray St, #3WKU, and #4Louisville. That has got to hurt. You went from #3 in the country to #4 in the state!!!!

Seriously?! Shawn my friend it seems I've had to respond (respectfully of course) to many of your posts here lately...

Worst in the state?? HAHA Yes it is a fact we lost to WKU tonight but WKU is NO VMI!!! PERIOD!!! And for you to put UK as your so-called #1 in the state?! HAHA that's hilarious c'mon bro at least be realistic!

This is what makes me laugh about UK fans like you(not all UK fans are like you and actually have common sense)... Anything that happens at UL that you think will cover up something equally as bad or worse than something UK has done you will scream to high heavens about...

I'm not guaranteeing a win on January 4th but if you're telling me UK is the best in the state then I like my chances with UL on that day!
uofl Sucks!
They are overrated.
Paper champs.
SORRY a** team!
I expected nothing less from you 4.5titles...

James, are you actually going to argue Kentucky's dominance over Louisville over the years in basketball? There is no comparison. Take off the cardinal red colored glasses and open your eyes man. You win one game against us and make it further in the tournament one year, and all the sudden you guys are the dominate team in the state?
Embarassing loss for sure but @ least it wasn't on our HOME court.....ala VMI!!!....and lest we forget Gardner Webb last year!!.....a wake up call for sure but I'm sure coach P will get their attention over the next few weeks.....by the way we are still ranked #11 in the country and I still don't see the cats on the radar yet though they look better than they did earlier. Granted # 11 still appears overrated @ this point but it's based on talent and depth and where we finished last year; which there is no arguing....whether Coach P gets the team to gel we'll see.
Your post went from, UofL losing to W.K this past weekend to,

"are you actually going to argue Kentucky's dominance over Louisville over the years in basketball?"

I dont think James said anything about the PAST!! Unless, its when he said, "Yes it is a fact we lost to WKU tonight", which was SUNDAY!! Thats the past.

Are we suppose to stick with your post, or do we bounce around like every post anyone puts on here?

Like i said before, it will never change, this site is not to argue about the past, but the now, or at least thats what i thought.

No, actually I like talking about the past. About all the ways that UK has cheated its way into winning. But give them credit no half measures with the kitties..shaving points. bags of money sent to hs kids......Nothing if they aren't thorough in the ways of cheating.

I don't mind at all talking about the past as long as its kept in context... For example when someone talks about one team "dominating" another team "over the years" and that person is incorporating years that date back almost 100 years ago when none of us were alive I think is a little stupid...

In my opinion I think decades are good measures of the trends in rivalries... Of course there's going to be an "all-time" record and you can't deny that one way or another. But when you look closer, say over the last 20-30 years, to me that is more telling of the rivalry or what the rivalry is truly based upon... In some cases of course you can date back 50 years if its a situation where both programs have consistently played each other in that time frame but again to include something that happened in 1948 as if that has anything to do with how the game in 2009 should play out it pretty dumb...

one example is Notre Dame in football... INCREDIBLE "all-time" history right? but lets be honest when was the last time they won a bowl game? I'm not 100% sure but I think its been over 10 years ago... And in more recent history last 5 years or so they've been DOMINATED in bowl games they had no business being in and the only reason they got the bid is b/c they were Notre Dame...

I think it was 2003 or 2002 Gator Bowl they played NC State and got dominated 28-6 this was the same year they had 3 losses and almost slipped into a BCS bowl game and the Gator Bowl waited till the last minute to offer the spot to ND b/c they were waiting to see if they were going to get a BCS bowl bid

Or take Michigan in football for example... they're the winningest program "all-time" in football what have they done of note in the last 10 years? They won their last National Championship in 1997 or 98 what have they done since?

All time dating back to 1913, I agree UK has beaten UL more times... But lets looks at this more closely... in the last 11 times UK and UL have played each other in basketball there's a 6-5 advantage for UK... That is hardly dominance from either team...

So clearly UL has beaten UK "more than once" As far as the tournament is concerned lets look at the same thing over the past few years the last 4 years UK has gotten a NCAA tourney bid, 3 of those 4 have been second round exits with the 4th making it to the elite 8... In the same 4 years Louisville has gone to the Final 4, Elite 8 and a second round exit...

Again I'm not sure where in those facts in recent memory UK has been better in the tourney either...

I'm not implying Louisville has been dominant over Kentucky but I am certainly implying Kentucky has NOT been dominant over Louisville in recent history...

Again as I stated in the beginning YES I do agree since the two schools started playing in 1913 UK has won more head to head matches and won more national titles congrats on that but they've certainly NOT been dominant in recent history... In my opinion its been close over the last decade since Tubby won that last title with Pitino's players...

I don't think i was going to that extreme, all i am saying is, every single post turns into, UK is better, no UofL is better.

When does this end?

I do believe we should bring up the past sometimes, but during every stone throwing it all comes back to, UK won this many games, and UofL won this many.

What i meant by my remark, "this site is not to argue about the past, but the now" was, we need to stick to "THIS YEAR" not like your making it sound like, "So after we play a game there is to be no further discussion of it from now on."

I do believe the past is the past, but when we come on here and someone is saying, we won 7 titles, and we won the orange bowl, blah blah!! it all turns out the same way, it means nothing.

We can all argue a very good point, UK basketball is one of the greatest, but in the most recent years, not. Yes they won 2 titles in the 90's, but nothing worth noting in the past 3 years. Why go all the way back to 1940's to make a point?

We can say UK has played sub-par in football over the past 3 years, but the fact is, they are not even good enough to go to a major bowl.
How is that climbing out of the cellar? UK is going to 3 straight bowl games (maybe, good luck if they do), and all of them has been the lowest bowl games handed out, just another way of someone making money.

But i do agree with James, he said: "I don't mind at all talking about the past as long as its kept in context." But the fact is, it never stays in context, thats all i am saying.
UK has beat UofL the last 2 years, yes, but UofL won 4 straight by a wide margin before that.

Kind of like my dad can beat up your dad!
