I SEE THERE ARE SOME CARDS HATERS AND LOVERS(THANKS FOR SETTING THE BIG BLAH BLUE UP! ALL THEY CAN TALK ABOUT IS WHAT THEY DID IN THE PAST. AND I KNOW WHY, BEACUSE THEY ARE A THING OF THE PAST! WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT YOU DID A DECADE AND A YEAR AGO?! WHAT CAN YOU SAY NOW? YOU HAVE FIRED TWO COACHES, TUBBY AND BILLY G., BOTH OF WHOM YOU DOGGED. CAUSE IF A COACH IS TELLING YOU LIKE IT IS AND YOU CAN'T TAKE IT , THEN MAYB YOU NEED TO RE-THINK YOUR GAME PLAN. I KNOW THEY JUS HATE IT WHEN RICK COMES OUT IN THE CARDINAL RED, REPRESENTIN FOR THE BEAST FROM THE BIG EAST CONFERENCE. SEC CONFERENCE IS OVERRATED BY THE FANS! NOBODY CARES ABOUT YA! AND SHAWN ATLEAST WKU MADE IT TO ROUND TWO OF THE NCAA TOURNAMENT. UM AND UK....OH I FORGO TTHEY WERE IN THE NIT! PITINO IS NOT OVERRATED. HE SHOULD HAVE GOT COACH OF THE YEAR ACTUALLY! I HAVE SEEN PLENTY COACHES THAT ARE PRAISED WHO AREOVERATTED BUT RICK AIN'T ONE OF EM. AS TO THE CLUELESS ONE WHO SAID RICK SD LEAVING KY WAS HIS BIGGEST MISTAKE, UM TRY AGAIN. JUS RECENTLY HE SD THAT HEWASNT GOIN ANYWHERE, THAT UL IS WHERE HE BELONGS!!!! HE IS A PROUD PAPA AS HE SHOULD BE, LOOK IT UP WLKY. AND I SEE WHY THE BIG BLAH IS SO DAZED AND CONFUSED, U GOTTA PAY 2 COACHES. I WOULD BE TOO, AFTER ALL WE IN A RECESSION, AND UR PROGRAM IN LEX IS IN A STATE OF DEPRESSION!

i been around a long time as well. metro, c-usa and now big east. we talked about how good they were then and still we talk how good they are now. it's all i can do to stomach bloggers like you and your narrow minded opinions of my beloved cards. talk about living in the past, my freind you all did run tubby off, denny stepped down. it was time and he knew that, and did it with grace and respect. when i was in the ticket line for seats to his last game, there were ky. fans there just to witness history. for that i got respect for them. i also pull whole heartedly for who ever is playing uk and my wish is they would never win a game(in anything). i will be a huge east carolina fan this evening. WE WERE,ARE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE AN ELITE TEAM. it truly is comments by true blue losers like all of you in kitty nation that continue to make me throw up in my mouth. where have you all been since 98? if memory serves we have been a regional champ and been to the final four. we won our championships from the famed metro, along with some pretty good memphis and va. tech teams. not to mention marquette. count all the championships we've won going back to the nit(when it was the only game in town), naia, and ncaa. or can you count that high. i doubt it.

Since I have been around a while I remember UL playing the likes of St. Joes, Murray, Eastern KY on a regular basis. I remember the old days when they played sad little teams. Of course that was before they moved to the Metro or C-USA conferance. They have had bac conferance affiliation for years. Now the UL fans want to act like they are elite. Your team has never been elite. They did get on a nice roll in the early to mid 80's. Don't talk to me about running Tubby off! What about Denny?

Come brag about the BigEast at the end of the year. The proof is in the pudding. Why brag about how good your team could be? Let's all just wait till we can see how good the are?

There are 12 teams in the SEC, and 16 teams in the Big East, so there should naturally be more ranked teams in a 16 team league than a 12 team league. It's not rocket science Keith my boy. You guys played in the pitiful Metro and C-USA for years and now you want to talk about power conferences. So did all of those wins against lesser opponents of the Metro and C-USA mean nothing in the years leading up to 2005? I never heard any UL fans tell me how weak their competition was back then, so why throw it in everyone's face now. Welcome to real D-1 basketball cardinal fans!! It took you guys long enough to get here. By the way, I think the true class of your program is now starting to show, considering you guys havn't won anything since joining the Big East.

You are all over it Eric!!......The painful truth to UK fans now is that Big East basketball has emerged as the Dominant basketball league in the country; similar to what the SEC enjoys in football. There are 8 Big East teams ranked in the top 25 which is actually more than the number of SEC football teams (I believe it's 4 or 5); and in retrospect the Big 12 actually looks like the strongest football conf. this year.
Pitino still has alot of work to do on the Cards this year, but they certainly have the potential for a final 4. UK should make the tournament but a second round exit looks probable again.

I thought VMI was a D1 team just didn't feel like looking it up. As far as Tubby goes and Dicky V talking about how bad our recruiting is and needing to get guys in there. Isn't that Tubby's fault? No one wanted to go to UK and play "Tubby Ball". Don't get me wrong I appreciate everything that Tubby did, I really liked him as a person. As a coach he just wasn't getting the players that we wanted there. I don't think Patterson would even be at UK if it wasn't for Billy.
As far as Crum goes, I dated a UofL fan when Crum was coach, he complained all the time about there being no fan support at the games. They wanted Crum gone just as bad as we wanted Tubby gone.

Wow Eric, next time you post on here please have someone else type for you so that the educated people on here can try and understand what exactly you are trying to say. First of all, Gardner Webb and VMI are both D1 teams. The funniest thing you said though, by far, was all I can do is recite facts. That is unbelievable!! Sorry I would actually consider giving facts on my posts instead of opinions that mean nothing. I think Tubby was a great coach, and I give him all the credit for the 98 championship. If you are going to use your logic, then you'd have to give Crum credit for Pitino's final four, because he recruited players like Ellis Miles and Larry O'Bannon. Pitino's players were playing for the Boston Celtics in 1998 and Tubby Smith's players were winning a national title. Tubby started losing control of the program over the last 3 or 4 years of his tenure, that is why he felt the pressure to resign. By the way, how did we treat Tubby any differently than you guys treated Crum towards the end of his tenure? How could you do such a thing after he won you guys 2 championships?
