It is sad that players are let go to bring in others like a business. I thought kids went to college to get an education. To take his/her scholarship based other people coming in to a program is wrong. I guess other schools do it also but maybe not so many at a time. It doesn't matter how many it is still wrong.

i agree with both of you....it sucks that things dont work out for kids and i have love for any player or coach who has been apart of the BBN ...but that is basketball and that is college not every one works out....but the truth is landon slone can go to morehead st. play basket ball be a bid dog on his campus graduate and come back to lexington and get any job that he wants, because kentucky fans take care of thier players. but i would love to have every player that wants to play for us be able to...we need to bring back our junior vasrity team lol but like any fan of any team you would trade a pilgrim for a patterson, a porter for a wall..why because you want to be the best.

I disagree. These players were offered scholarships for their ability to play basketball. They obviously didn't live up to UK's expectations. If a student is given an academic scholarship, they have to maintain a certain GPA, or their scholarship will be pulled as well. I think chickwhopper is just finding whatever he can to nitpick about the UK program. I do have one question for you chickwhopper. If you don't think the university has the right to take away a promised scholarship, then why do you think it is ok for Jodie Meeks and Earl Clark to leave school early for bigger and better things. Shouldn't they have to hold up to their end of the deal as well. Personally, I don't think Meeks or Clark owe anything to UL or UK, just as I don't think UK or UL owes anything to their players. It's not like the kids leaving UK are going to wind up in homeless shelters all over America anyways. They will all get scholarships that will enable them to continue their FREE education. Hell, even Landon Slone landed a scholarship offer from Morehead St.

The game of basketball itself was invented by a guy by the name of James Naismith. He was a terrible coach of his own game. He went 55-60 in his career. HE HAD A LOSING RECORD IN HIS OWN FREAKING GAME!!! The name means nothing, it's the strategy ...
