Tubby's Revenge
Oh what sweet revenge for Tubby. With one victory, he stabbed the heart of the Commonwealth. Neither team was spared.
Here's how it goes.
The obvious pain comes to the U of L fans. Here is Tubby Smith, the understudy of Rick Pitino for so many years. The Golden Gophers lead the entire game and stick it to the Cards.
Now not only is in painful for Tubby to defeat his mentor, but this is the same coach who was, in subtle ways (or maybe not subtle ways), given the message that it was time to move on to the snow-covered pastures of Minnesota.
Now, here is where it get's interesting.
On January 4, when U of L and UK meet again to continue their annual rivalry, UK fans will be stinging.
If UK loses the game - They are being beaten not only by Rick Pitino, but also their former coach. Gophers beat Cards, Cards beat Cats then Cats are also being beaten by the Gophers.
UK fans are in a tough spot. Pitino left for the pros, then returns to UL. UK fans are unhappy. UK fans don't like Tubby ball. He leaves only to come back to beat the coach they used to love and now dislike.
The only thing UK fans must hope for is a win over the Cards on January 4.

Well, i have to agree with Anthony, how in the hell do you get, UofL loses to Minn, if UofL wins, UK loses to Tubby??
But i will say, Anthony, how in the hell do you get this is the biggest game for UofL? Dude, you do know we play in one of the best conference in the country don't you? UK is a big game, just like it is to UK. They call this a rival game for a reason!!
And talk about, insert foot here!! "BTW --- This is a UK fan speaking, thank you very much."

Ahhh . My point is not to try to make a logical connection. The point is Tubby beats his former boss now the UL coach. And some UK fans were glad to see him go. So Tubby makes his mark by beating UL and the coach that at one time was beloved by UK fans.
The point is that he defeated UL and UK by proxy through Pitino as the former god at UK.
BTW --- This is a UK fan speaking, thank you very much.

This is the most ignorant post I have ever read. UL fans will go to all lengths to paint UK in a negative light. Only in your feeble mind does a UM win over UL equate to a UM win over UK. The game on Jan. 4 is only the biggest game of the season for UL. For UK it is just another game on the schedule.
I can see how the UL fans are drooling over this game. UK will be the highest ranked team that they have played this season. The long to be giant killers!!
